Hi! I’m Ruger. My friends call me “Rue” for short. I’m a one year old, boy GSD and am medium size at about 70 pounds.

I’m super affectionate (ok, I’m a leaner) and playful and I enjoy meeting new people. I do well in busy parks, in stores and around strangers too.

I love the water; I’ll splash and dig and, in fact, will dunk my entire head under. Apples anyone!

I will also dig in the dirt to try and catch gophers but don’t dig for nothing. I have a pretty high prey drive, but I met the cats in my foster home and I seem to be very cat workable!

I love to travel and love to be with friends and with my people. Luckily I ride nicely in the car so we can GO!

I can get a little excited when I see other dogs, but I can be easily redirected. I’m a smart boy a I very much want to please my people. 

After proper introductions I love to play with other dogs and can be a little rough and tumble but I will also take a “slow it down” correction well. 

I got a little bit mouthy (I don’t bite) at the shelter but my human friends have been showing me a better way to control my excitement and I only do it when I’m over-stimulated. I really like kids but because I’m a tad mouthy I should probably skip them for now. 

I’m a youngster so will need basic training. I think I would enjoy dog school as I’m pretty smart and like to please. I have lots to learn but have made good progress so far….and I’m treat motivated.
