Michon is an 18 month old Belgian Malinois and is named in honor of Michon Mills and her Malinois called India who broke the world dog jumping record twice last year.

Don’t worry though as Michon (our Dog) is a more leisurely girl and has to be the most relaxed mal there is.  She is not a toy dog, and she is not full of energy.  She will casually run with a dog as it chases a toy, but Michon is not interested in playing with the toy.

She spent the first part of her life running free on 40 acres.  She didn’t have a lot of people interaction; her bestest pal was another dog and they learned to hunt critters.  For this reason, she should not go to a home with smaller animals; she’s not good with cats either.

Despite her independence, Michon has learned in foster care that people are really good.  She has learned to enjoy long massages and facials.  She enjoys the outdoors, but she’s also very happy inside, on a nice bed, hanging out with people.   While Michon initially resource guarded her foster mom, she no longer does this.  She is happy to share people time with other dogs.  She would most likely enjoy having another dog to pal around with during the day.  She will only occasionally rough and tumble with Mr. Hyde; otherwise, she just hangs out with other dogs.

Michon has very nice inside manners, even without training.  A challenge will be training as she is so used to not having direction and consistent people interaction.  She is trustworthy in the house.

If you admire the Belgian Malinois but feel that the energy and drive is about much, Michon might be the girl for you.  However, you’ll need to show that you can work with your dog, set boundaries and help them be all they can be.

Let’s get this girl adopted.  She’s a super dog!
