Bella is a sweet, affectionate female German Shepherd who is in need of a new home. She is a moderate sized dog who weighs 72 pounds and we estimate she is about 6 years old. For most of her life Bella lived as an outside only dog but happily those days are behind her.

Bella is happy to meet all people. She lived with children prior to coming into rescue. She is living at a foster home with 2 male German Shepherds and quickly made friends with both dogs. They spend their days together while their foster mom goes to work.

She is a happy and playful dog. She loves running to chase her toys and loves stealing them from her foster brothers.

Bella loves to go on walks. She will pull on leash but her leash manners are improving with time. She is learning a few basic commands and so far knows sit and down. She easily goes into a crate at mealtimes.

Bella is generally good in the house and sleeps free at night. She uses a dog door to let herself in and out. She will do a bit of counter-surfing if yummy food is left out but is learning that is unacceptable behavior.

During the work week Bella spends ~10 hours a day alone with her foster brothers and does not get into trouble.
Bella is agile and can easily jump into the back of a pickup truck. She rides well crated and does not get sick when traveling over windy mountain roads.

Bella is expressive and will talk to you. She will alarm bark but is not a nuisance barker.

Bella would be happiest living at a home with another dog or as an only dog if her family is home more than they are gone.

She enjoys going on long walks but she can get by with daily walks around the neighborhood.

Bella exhibits some prey drive and we feel she should not live with a cat.

She is living at a foster home on the peninsula. Arrangements can be made to meet her at her foster home or at a suitable location. Her adoption fee is $300. For more information please contact Deb Bergfeld at [email protected].
