I’m Alexa! I’m a petite little lady GSD and am about 8 months old. I ended up at a shelter but thankfully my new friends at BAGSR got me the heck out. It was really scary for me in the shelter so I’m looking for a family who will continue to build my confidence. I love living in a real home with my foster family and can’t wait to find my very own family and place to hang my leash!

I’ve been coming out of my shell since I’ve been here with my foster family. I enjoy the quieter people but the big Italian guy still scares me a little. He’s really nice to me though and I’m definitely coming around with him too. I am interested in visitors and if they are patient with me, I’ll approach to say hi. When I really get to know you, I’ll smother you with kisses. And in true GSD fashion, I will alarm bark when someone rings the doorbell.

I like toys and I enjoy the company of my 3 foster dog siblings. I am food motivated and wait patiently in a sit while my food is being prepared.

I’ll need someone who will continue to spend lots of time with me. Dog school and outings, as I can tolerate, will do wonders for my confidence building as will physical and mental exercise. I’m an affectionate girl and if you help me, I will repay you with love and devotion.

I have been sleeping in a crate at night and sometimes seek it out during the day as my safe place. I do have nice house manners though.

I am still a pup and as I start to blossom, it’s probably best if you remember that…I have been known to swipe the occasional shoe – haha.
