ME

My name is Bones. I’m a three and a half year old Belgian Malinois. I am a sweet and friendly boy and approach everyone easily.

I know some basic commands and would love to learn more as we Mals love to have things to do to keep our minds and bodies working. I am pretty good on a front clip harness but will pull a bit on just my collar. I’m not leash reactive at all and enjoy being out and about.

I do have prey drive so would not do well living in a home with livestock, small animals and probably not cats. I avoid the cat where I am staying now but when I get more comfortable, I may like to chase. I get along ok with other dogs but I’ve been told I’m a little pushy at times. Introductions should be slow and calm, maybe a walk around first before we get too friendly.

I must admit, I am a ball FIEND. I will play fetch all day long and into the night……  If you wear out, I will assume a lotus position and proceed with a good chomping session. If you put the ball away, I will search for it so it must be out of sight until I learn some better impulse control. I will settle after a few minutes and forget about it until the next time we are re-united. I will let you take the ball from me and if you are too slow with that, I will drop it at your feet. I am not grabby as I want you to throw it. I also love the water and will gladly take advantage of a wading pool to cool off.

True to my breed, I am a very active dog and sometimes when I’m excited, I can get a little mouthy and jumpy. I’m learning to control that but this may be hard for younger children to understand and I don’t want to accidentally hurt anyone so a family with kids 15+ would be best for me.

I have a fun, silly demeanor and will be a terrific companion for an active adopter that will lead me to success. I ride nicely in the car and am known to be a great traveler and would definitely enjoy hiking, swimming, fetch, fun training, walks, maybe even dock diving, oh, and FETCH.

If you’re looking for a friendly companion and are up for some active recreation, I may be your boy.

I’ll be staying with my friends in Windsor. Hope to meet you!
