Hi! I’m Caretta but my friends just call me Cara. I’m a 5 month old GSD and I already weigh about 44 pounds.

I was sprung from the shelter and am now looking for my forever family.

I’m a confident, friendly, very sweet girl and get along quite nicely with my GSD foster brother. I am bright and engaging and will bond closely and quickly with my adopter.  

I don’t know much yet but my foster mom says that I am a quick learner. I did great at the dog doc and like to go for car rides. 

I’m very alert and in true GSD fashion, I pay close attention to my surroundings. My foster mom says that I am a dream on leash especially for a girl my age. When I’m out for a walk, I do notice birds, squirrels and cats but do not chase and I am very easily redirected with words only and am nonreactive to other dogs. I really love my walks so I hope to live with a walker or hiker. 

I’ll need an adopter who is committed to teach me things and take me out and about to continue my socialization. I’ll be a big girl so it will be especially necessary for me to always practice good manners.

It will also be important that my adopter have working breed experience as an adult and have the time and desire to keep my mind and body busy. I would love an active lifestyle.
