THANK YOU LESLIE D FOR HELPING WITH CHANCE’S SURGERY COST. HE IS DOING SO WELL AND HE’S SUCH A NICE BOY!

Hi! My name is Chance. I’m a classic black and tan GSD and I weigh about 80 pounds. I’m approximately 8 years old and am a delightful, sweet, gentleman. My rescuers named me specifically because they think I deserve the best Chance at a happy, love-filled future.

I am friendly with dogs and people. Even though I do show interest in cats and perk up when I see squirrels, because of my gentle demeanor, I may be ok if my new family has a cat. There are 2 other dogs in my foster family and while I enjoy their company, it’s not essential that I have another dog around.

I would love my very own human or family who will take me on leisurely walks and spend time with me. I’m not very needy or clingy but I sure do love my people and will bond quickly and closely.

I just had surgery to have my hip fixed and am on the mend. It would be great if I can find an adopter who will help me through my recovery so I can settle into my new home.

Something you should know about me is that it’s super important for my new family to keep me on a healthy diet and keep me fit and trim so that my hip surgery has the best “Chance” for success and so that I can do moderate exercise and feel good.

I have gotten used to toys at my foster home and really enjoy them. I also like playing with rocks but that’s not encouraged because it’s not good for my teeth.

I cooperate beautifully at the dog doc and with baths and grooming.

I have lovely house manners too.

My foster mom really loves having me around and she says I’m a sweet, sweet gem. I’ll make a wonderful companion and will adjust quickly to my new home.

If you’d like to meet me, I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Newcastle.
