Well-I had a job interview that didn’t pan out so I think it will be good to be a regular dog. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. In fact I’m really looking forward to it! When the sheriff’s department met me, they thought I would be a good scent dog. But, I wanted to do it on my own terms and you know those law enforcement people- you need to follow the rules to a “T” if you want to work for them. It just wasn’t for me. But I’m really athletic and would make a really good running, walking or hiking friend. I would like agility or search games too.

So here’s a little more about me. I’m a medium sized (about 65 pounds), 2 year old sable GSD and a sweet, happy girl. I am also smart, confident and courageous. If you think I look a little different it’s probably because I may have European breeding-you know like a queen-yep! I’m athletic, quick and really like attention. We could have lots of fun if you’re that kind of person too.

I love to chase balls but admit I don’t like to give the ball back.  I think balls are good for chewing on too. Once I settle in to my new home it would be fun to work on playing a real game of fetch. In the past I couldn’t really count on having someone to play with so I just learned to play with my ball all by myself.

I do have a really strong prey drive so I won’t be good in a family with small creatures. Dogs are ok as long as they don’t bother me. I would much rather play with humans and keep away from other dogs. They just kind of irritate me and I don’t really have much use for them.  I love attention and food so it will be fun to teach me new things using praise (yay) and treats. I know a bit of basic obedience already but some classes together would be great practice for being around other dogs and learning more skills. We GSDs like that sort of thing!

Because I like to chase small critters, leash walks may be challenging if you’re not strong or can’t predict when I’ll try to chase. I’ll get better at stuff like this cause I’ll really want to please my new family. I just need to work on keeping my attention on the important things….my new human friends and family.

I also have good house manners and like to relax and unwind with my human friends and family.
