FREDDY THANKS NICK AND KRIS W FOR SPONSORING HIM WHILE HE FINDS HIS NEW HOME, WHICH WE KNOW WILL HAPPEN REAL SOON. THANKS NICK AND KRIS.
Hi, my name is Freddy! I’m an approximately 10 month old male GSD with dark sable markings, and a darker brown and black mask and muzzle. I’ve been told by people that I’m a handsome boy, but I don’t think about that too much. I’d much prefer to be noticed for my kind and playful personality!
I came into the BAGSR rescue program as an unclaimed stray from Stockton shelter. Can you believe that someone would have owned a nice guy like me and never come to find me when I got lost? Me either! But I’m frankly ready to put all that behind me now and find a forever family that will reciprocate all the love I have to give (and it’s a LOT).
Because I’m still young, I really like to play and exercise a lot. I have a lot of fun hanging out with one of my current foster pack mates who is about my age. But I really get along with almost any dog I meet. I’ve made dogs friends on pack walks, with the neighbor’s dogs, and out on trips to Lowes. If I’m honest, I’d still prefer to be with my humans, but I would be happy living with another dog once being introduced properly. I’m not sure if I could live with a cat, but I’ve met a few at Petsmart and haven’t really been interested in eating any of them. Besides, they look weird anyway, and let’s admit it, they are kinda smelly, LOL.
Nothing makes me happier than meeting people and making new human friends. I especially like kids that are friendly and respectful and treat me nicely. My foster dad says I still need to work on not jumping up on people, but I’m trying to get better at that. Some of my other favorite activities are leash walks around the neighborhood, and going for rides in the car, especially to Lowes or Petsmart with my whole pack! My foster mom has been working with me on manners like sitting and waiting for my meals. But I already know sit and down and just need more obedience training classes to help me realize my full potential.
People say I’m on the “compact” size at just under 50 lbs, and I have been putting on weight since I came to my foster home and started eating right. I will probably grow a little bigger, but not too much. I do love to play with toys, especially rope tugs and things I can chew on. And I think I’ve pretty much got this housebroken thing down. Just remember to let me out from time to time so we don’t have an accidents, okay?
Although I am an active boy, I also know how to relax when the time comes. I’m happy to hang under your desk while you’re working, or in the kitchen when you’re cooking. When it’s bedtime, I may fuss a little bit. But I will go into my crate and I will sleep until morning.
So, if you’re looking for a GSD who is a nice compact size, with a lot of heart and a huge amount of personality and love, I am your boy! If you’d like to meet me, I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Folsom.
