My name is Gertie! I’m a healthy 5 year old girl GSD and weigh about 67 pounds.

I am a calm, patient girl with a good natured demeanor.

I haven’t been exposed to a lot so it would be great to find a new family who can spend time introducing me to new places and experiences. I would also benefit from formal training, maybe even dog school! And I’ll need some practice on leash. I look to my humans to show me the way so I’ll be a quick study for sure. Also, I do come when called!

I’ve lived most of my life outdoors and am looking forward to being inside with my new people. It will be an easy adjustment for me because I’m easy going and eager to please….not to mention smart.

I don’t alarm bark; but for fun I like to bark at squirrels and cats.

I definitely seek out attention from my humans in order to feel secure. It will be important for my new family to be patient with me as I settle in. I will also benefit from a strong confident leader.

I am fine with other dogs and actually like them; but I can be timid with new dog meetings. I’ll gain confidence with more practice though.

I’m playful especially with my humans! My new friends say that I am a sweet affectionate gal who will make a lovely companion.
