Many thanks to dhbetty Bicycle Gems for sponsoring Haggis!

Thank you Phillip Parr for your sponsorship support – WOOF!

When you adopt a BAGSR dog, the last thing you should worry about is your new dog’s health. When you see this sign, you know that our volunteers & donors have ensured:

Your dog has a clean bill of health for heartworm, fleas and ticks. Your dog has received monthly medication to make sure the bugs stay away. Your dog has been spayed or neutered. Your dog has been microchipped and you’ll be added to the registration. Your dog is current on rabies and DHLPP vaccines. Your dog has been eating good food and we will give you some to take home.

We want you to adopt your new dog with confidence. Thanks to all our BAGSR donors and volunteers who made this possible!

What kind of a name is Haggis? I used to wonder that myself but now I’m used to it and don’t give it a second thought….besides my friends call me Haggy-haha.

I’m a pretty interesting guy all around. I’m a big 95 pound beautiful brown sable GSD and I’m six and a half years old.

I’m quite a confident boy which makes for a fun and interesting dog for the right family. I’ll need someone to take charge and be the unquestionable leader. And I’m fine with that. I’ll prefer it actually so I can relax and enjoy my life as a dog. Lots of challenging games and training will make me the best that I can be.

I’m a really good listener and quick learner. I’m athletic and enjoy leash walks and hikes. I also have good house manners and appreciate just hanging out. I know some obedience and will alarm bark if something seems fishy. I’ll be protective of my home and family until I’m told that everything is OK.

I will really take care of my new family; I’m a typical GSD in this way.

Once I know someone is a friend instead of a foe, I will happily ask the new friend to play ball-I really love balls.  I also like new toys. You won’t even have to take them out of the package cause I can do that myself. I‘m fun and friendly and like people of all ages….ummm except veterinarians and groomers. I need to be muzzled when being handled there.  And because I’m so big and can be a bit grabby with my ball, small kids should be watched when playing with me.

I can be left alone, even inside, and won’t get into trouble. I can hold down the fort if you have to go to work or something. I’m also good with other dogs and cats don’t bother me either.

I’ll be waiting in Novato for my new family.
