Hi! I’m Indie. I’m a one year old girl GSD. My new friends at BAGSR say that I’m a “beauty”; I have a lovely shinny black coat. I am a gentle, happy girl and I’m about 65 pounds of sweetness. Fortunately, my new friends got me out of the shelter. That was SCARY for me!

My foster family is teaching me all kinds of things that were unfamiliar to me and they are introducing me to new experiences. I am playful and affectionate with everyone in my foster family.

I’ve been on a few short car rides and did fine sitting politely in the back seat.

I am great with other dogs, big and small and am respectful with them-even with my foster brother who growls at me if I get too close to his toys. I currently live with 2 other dogs.

I have nice house manners and I like my crate a lot at home. It’s my safe place. In fact, I will take things and bring them to my crate if you leave them out and about. Some of the things I’ve brought to my crate: shoes, a sweatshirt, a bag full of laundry, a blanket, balls, rags AND…..lemons (remember the bag of laundry?).

I was really good at the dog doc even though I was afraid; but I let them do what they needed to do.

I sit on command, am learning down, and enjoy going for walks but sometimes I get overwhelmed and want to go back home. When I get nervous, my foster mom waits for me to calm down then we continue our walk.

Something you should know about me is that I will need a patient new family who is willing to continue to introduce me to things and help build my confidence. I am learning how to meet new people without being too afraid but I still need for people to be patient with me. My foster mom says I am getting so much better about these meetings. I especially love meeting people with dogs! Somehow it seems that the dogs make me more comfortable about meeting their people. I also meet new dogs without fear or aggression.

I am bonding with my foster family and will surely bond tightly with my adopters as well. Once I’m comfortable, be ready for an energetic, playful girl! hope you’d like to meet me! I’ll be waiting in Oakland.
