Mama Maya came to us with her three, three-day-old puppies, Mandy, Ryker and Rylie. The pups are all grown up, fat and happy. It’s now Maya’s turn to be in the spotlight.
Maya was a backyard breeder dog. She is about 3 years old, and hasn’t had a great life. Maya has settled in nicely and is a real people dog. Maya would benefit most from someone who gives her plenty of love and equal amounts of leadership and training. It would be easy to let her do her own thing, but seriously, she needs structure and training to be a good family pet. The ideal home for Maya is one where family members are not gone all day.
Maya is with other foster dogs and is good with them. However, being a good mommy dog, she has lots of experience in ‘schooling’ dogs to mind their manners. She is what we call the ‘fun police’; she scolds (barks at) dogs when they’re playing. 🙂 She gets along nicely otherwise.
She is NOT good with cats. She barks at critters and livestock.
Maya is ready for her furever family. Might that be you? She is a level 3 dog in the east bay.
