Interested in a mature, little mellower dog?  A bit smaller than the average bear?  You might want to consider Sam.  

He’s about 3 years old.  He’s pretty easy going, doesn’t require much, and pretty content.  He is quiet in the yard; in fact, we haven’t even heard him bark.  Since Sam has been with us, he has learned to sleep quietly in a crate; that was quite a challenge.  But that tells us he is teachable and adaptable. 🙂  He is treat motivated so he will be a good student.

Sam is a nice guy.  He is fine with other dogs, but he would be happiest as an only dog.  He doesn’t like dogs in his face, and will let out a growl, but that is the only time we hear anything out of his mouth. Sam would not have fun at a dog park; rather, he is a great people dog and will enjoy spending time with his new family, accompanying them everywhere.

Sam has been tested with cats.  He passed initially, he failed a few weeks later, and on 9/10, he passed again.  We will take great care in adopting Sam out to a potential adopter with a cat(s).

Sam is just a simple guy.  If you want a fairly low-key dog, and you’re still willing to put in some training time, please consider Sam.  He’s Cool!  He’s a level 2 in the east bay.
