Orion recently came to us from Tehama county, so we’re still getting to know him. We think he’s mostly Siberian husky, but he could also have a little German shepherd in there, too. He definitely has the sometimes stoic, sometimes bouncy personality of a husky!

Orion is a generally friendly, laid back guy. However, he does not like being physically restrained. We know he looks extremely huggable, but it’s important that his new family is respectful of his body language. Once he trusts you, and knows you’re not going to do anything physical or uncomfortable with him, he becomes quite the snuggler. (But, again, it’s super important that the snuggling is on his terms!)

Orion was great with other dogs at the Tehama shelter. He’s seen a few small dogs on leash here in Marin, and he thinks they look super fun. It’s possible that he may be overwhelming to small dogs, due to his bouncy play style. Due to Orion’s issues with invasive handling, we think he would prefer an adult only home, or a home with older teenagers who will respect his personal space.
