ME
Pax got his very own corporate sponsor – he feels very important. Thank you Boardtronics.

Hi, my name is Pax.  I’m a 3 ½ year old male GSD with a traditional black and tan coat with fawn undertones and a dark mask and muzzle. I’m a modest dude, but frankly, a lot of people have told me that they think I’m quite handsome.

I’m really a calm, laid back kind of guy. I do like meeting and hanging out with other dogs and it’s been pretty cool being part of my current foster pack. But I’m ready to move on now and find my perfect forever home. I can be a little shy at first, and there are some people I find a little less interesting than others. But in general, I like meeting new people, especially kids that are friendly and treat me nicely. And once I get to know someone, I can be super friendly and will hang close to them. In fact, my current foster Mom thinks I’m practically like her shadow.

I try to stay in good shape, and everyone says I’m a nice medium size at just over 70 lb. I’m not really into chasing balls and stuff like that, but I do love running around the yard with my foster pack in the morning. I’m not really into toys, but man do I love chewing on a nice water buffalo horn. That’s a good way to keep a dog from going after one of your shoes by the way… or so I’ve heard. Oh, and I’ve got this housebroken thing down, but please remember to let me out from time to time so we don’t have an accidents, okay?

I definitely like leash walks, and going for rides in the car, especially to Lowes or Petco! My foster family has been working with me on manners, so I try to humor them by sitting and staying when I’m told… you know, just to make them happy. They have tried bribing me with treats, but I’m really not into that. I’d much rather just have someone tell me I’m a good boy and pet me. I really wouldn’t mind going thru a full obedience training class to help me bond with my new owner. Besides, you know how hard it can be to train humans, so I figure it couldn’t hurt.

When it comes time to relax with you, I’m there! I’m happy to hang under your desk while you’re working, or in the kitchen when you’re cooking. But I’m especially happy just chilling in the evening if you give me a pad or dog bed close to you. When it’s bedtime, I like going into my crate all by myself to crash. But please note that I’d really prefer it be in the same room you’re in if possible. And yes, I do snore just a tiny little bit. But most people find it calming and even charming so I hope that’s not a deal breaker for you.

I’ve always been an only dog in the past. But to be honest with you now that I’ve been part of a pack, I would definitely consider moving in with a family that already has one or two dogs as long as they are cool. I really don’t mind cats either, but I’d have to meet yours to see if we would be compatible.

So, in summary, if you’re looking for a GSD who is calm and relaxing to hang with, but still likes to get out and do things and just be with you, I am your guy. If you’d like to meet me, please let the nice people at the rescue know and they will set it up. I’ll be waiting with my foster mom in Folsom.
